Born and raised in Japan, I studied textiles and clothing before following my heart to Hawaii at age 27. Starting over in a new culture and language wasn’t easy, and there were moments I felt lonely and unseen.

I found comfort wandering through bead shops across the island. What began as making jewelry for myself and friends slowly became something more after a local boutique owner asked me, “Where did you get YOUR jewelry?” That moment quietly changed my path.

Jewelry became my language without words, shaped by ocean air, open land and sun-warmed days. Each piece is made by hand, meant to be worn daily, carrying strength, ease and a little wild spirit.
I established my brand in 2020. “Hanalani” is inspired by my daughter, the heart of my life and the soul behind this brand.
