HEY, I'M MARI

Born and raised in Japan, I studied textiles and clothing before following my heart to Hawaii at age 27. Starting over in a new culture and language wasn’t easy, and there were moments I felt lonely and unseen.

I found comfort wandering through bead shops across the island. What began as making jewelry for myself and friends slowly became something more after a local boutique owner asked me, “Where did you get your jewelry?” That moment quietly changed my path.

Jewelry became my language without words, shaped by ocean air, open land and sun-warmed days. Each piece is made by hand, meant to be worn daily, carrying strength, ease and a little wild spirit.

I established my brand in 2020. “Hanalani” is inspired by my daughter, the heart of my life and the soul behind this brand.

Each piece is created slowly by hand, with care for both material and meaning. I work intentionally, shaping metal and hand-picked stones with patience, allowing each design to unfold rather than forcing it.

Inspired by nature — sunlight on skin, worn denim, desert air, and ocean breeze — my jewelry carries the feeling of places lived and moments remembered. These are pieces meant to be lived in, layered, and loved over time, becoming your own modern talisman.

PERSONALIZED HEART RING

I am a repeat customer! I love the rose gold filled rings. I wore my original wave ring & freebie band all day every day a couple of years, and they have never turned my finger green or black. Finally replaced those rings because I'm really, really hard on them, and added a few extras! Mari even custom made an initial ring for me. My only heads up on the heart rings is they are a little bigger than expected. I have short fingers, so stacking 3 looks crowded on me. But that's a me issue, not Mari or her jewelry. 10/10 recommend!
